WP7 : Awareness rising, Disseminating and Exploitation
(Leader : ICARDA)

>> Work Program

Objectives

  • The present WP will comprise all dissemination-related issues aimed at raising public awareness about actual problems and the solutions offered by CYCLER-SUPPORT.

Tasks

The proposers are aware that in order to achieve a sustainable practical implementation of the new greenhouse generation, and to contribute to the improvement of using and managing unconventional water resources for irrigation, and of the surface water pollution and public health in the MPCs, intensive dissemination activities must be carried out. The partners will actively contact and communicate with relevant stakeholders during the project and after its conclusion, and will develop a variety of support materials. More specifically, the following steps will be taken :

  • development of a CYCLER-SUPPORT project website. ICARDA will be in charge of the establishment of the project web-site, supported by TTZ. This web-site will be used as the main means of communication between partners and for promoting the network externally. All information related to the project will be accessible from the web-site in two different languages : English and French. Confidential information will be password-protected; other areas will be open access. The project will also be publicised on partners' individual websites; ICARDA is responsible for the web-page coordination (design, different languages, updating), TTZ helps with input and cross-reading
  • establishment of an expert exchange platform (located on the CYCLER-SUPPORT webpage) to plead for future research activities and supporting policies for an intensified and prolonged impact of new "CYCLER-greenhouses", (accomplished by IAV)
  • development of a half-yearly CYCLER-SUPPORT newsletter, to be sent to relevant stakeholders and to be provided on the CYCLER webpage, (accomplished by ICARDA)
  • the research results will be presented in related conferences, exhibitions and symposia in the fields of greenhouse production, sustainable irrigation and fertilisation, decentralised wastewater treatment and sustainable agriculture management (material: project brochure, poster), (accomplished by all project partners)
  • The results will be published in relevant European and North African magazines related to of greenhouse production, sustainable irrigation, decentralised wastewater treatment, environment or policy-strategies, innovative crops, etc. (accomplished by all project partners)
  • Contacts and exchanges of information will be established with relevant European networks like MED-REUNET and MEDAQUA, and with the co-ordinators of related European projects. (accomplished by IAV)
